The last time period is the Cenozoic Era. It is known as the “Age of the Mammals” and the “Age of Humans”. It started 65 million years ago and is still going to this day.
The continental drift in the Mesozoic Era caused larger oceans. You probably know the shape of the continents now, but the continents are moving every second, so in a couple hundred years we will be in a different spot. During early Ceno, it was a bit warmer than it is to this day. The globe got warmed at 55.8 mya, and it was followed by a cold and dry period.
There was changes in lifeforms. Monkeys, Wooly Mammoths, Saber Toothed Tigers, Deer, Sharks, Whales, Grass, modern mammals (humans), rodents, and bats were all in effect in the era.
At the end of the time period, there was no extinction, yet anyways. But that is when we came to be. 200,000 years ago was when humans evolved. The rest is history.
